The Great Outdoors Palm Springs chapter has announced its Snow Canyon, Utah Campout, which will take place in May. In their own words:
"THINK ZION NATIONAL PARK WITHOUT THE CROWDS!"
Snow Canyon State Park is a 7,400-acre scenic park tucked amid lava flows and soaring sandstone cliffs in a strikingly colorful and fragile desert environment. Marvel at the majestic views and the subtle interplay of light, shadow and color dancing across canyon walls. Located in the Red Cliff Desert Reserve, established to protect the federally-listed desert tortoise and its habitat, the park offers opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing and photography. There are 17 easy to moderate hiking trails ranging from .5 miles to 8 miles as well as two difficult trails ranging from 1.5 miles to 3.5 miles. There is also a three-mile paved walking/biking trail.
