We will tour the exclusive Nethercutt Collection in a special docent-led tour.
The Nethercutt Collection features rare collectibles ranging from mechanical musical instruments and antique furniture to the true heart of the collection: over 250 American and European automobiles dating from 1898 to 1997.
Among the treasures spanning four floors in the collection’s original facility is one of the world’s most outstanding assortments of beautifully restored antique, classic automobiles. They are showcased in an exquisite re-creation of an opulent automotive grand salon of the 1920s and 1930s.
From there we will see an amazing collection of automobile mascots, antique furniture, clocks and watches, and one of the worlds finest collections of Mechanical Musical Instruments are displayed in our music room.
The highlight of the tour will be the world-class collection of automated mechanical instruments including musical repeat striking watches, Swiss bird boxes, cylinder and disc music boxes, and grand pianos. The tour culminates with demonstrations of select orchestrations and the 5,000-piped Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ.
After the docent-lead tour, we will walk back over to the Museum to leisurely browse through the Museum collection.
The Nethercutt Museum showcases more than 130 of the world’s greatest antique, vintage, classic and special interest automobiles including many top winners of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.
Just steps outside the Museum are a perfectly restored 1937 steam locomotive and a Private Car, which was owned by the eldest daughter of Santa Anita Race Track founder, E.J. “Lucky” Baldwin.
After the Museum, we will go to a local cafe for lunch!
