On Saturday October 20th Great Outdoors Los Angeles will host a day hike starting at Del Cerro Park and winding down and up on the Burma Road Trail at Portuguese Bend Reserve on the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
When: Saturday, October 20 starting at 0930 AM and ending around 3:00 PM ish.
Where: starting point Del Cerro Park on the top of Rancho Palos Verdes. Meet at parking lot at Del Cerro Park.

Length: About 4.5 hours (975 elevation change)
Difficulty of hiking: Moderate to could be challenging on the way back up.
What to Bring: Good hiking boots/shoes. Small day hike pack. Bring your lunch, snacks and bring plenty of water. Hat/cap and sunscreen. Cameras.
Rain cancels but threat of rain does not.

Start time: 09:30 AM : Meet at Del Cerro parking lot. If parking lot is full parking is available on Crenshaw Blvd. Please open link http://www.rpvca.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Del-Cerro-Park-3 to read more details about Del Cerro Park and see alternative parking (add at least 10 - 15 more minutes if parking on street along Crenshaw). Hike from Del Cerro to the beginning of Potuguese Bend Reserve Burma trail begins at 10:00 AM.
Geologist Professor Joe Holliday will again be our expert guide along the Palos Verdes/Portuguese Bend Reserve hike. This is a "pack your own" lunch, snacks and drinks (bring at least a liter or more of water for the hike).
Restrooms: A portable toilet is available along Burma Road Trail.
Our outing will conclude by 3:00 PM ish.
