HIKE TIME: 2 hours

DIFFICULTY:   Moderately strenuous. Includes 4 steep staircases, with a total of 695 steps.

Urban stair walk - Brunch - Drawing live male models!  Join us for a fun, leisurely Sunday exploring a handful of the impressive secret staircases in Echo Park.

STAIR WALK:  We will climb 4 staircases in a neighborhood loop, each of varying height and difficulty.  Each promises pleasant views of hillsides, possible wildlife, and the surrounding communities, including Silver Lake, Los Feliz and Griffith Park.

“This is Echo Park’s most rigorous walk --- the highest number of steps in the minimum amount of time --- with a surplus of physical beauty.  Along the way are views from Downtown to Westwood, a walk in Elysian Park, and a Who’s Who of the historic Los Angeles arts scene and of the area’s famous communists and socialists.”  - Charles Fleming, Secret Stairs.

BRUNCH:   (Approx. 11:30 am) We'll continue towards Sunset Blvd. to have brunch (restaurant to be determined). PLEASE RSVP TO US BY FRI, NOV. 10 if you want to secure your spot for brunch reservation. We will need a head count. Contact leaders below.

LIFE DRAWING SESSION:  (Approx. 1:00 pm) After brunch, we’ll walk up to the famous Tom of Finland House, and join the monthly life drawing session with artist Miguel Angel Reyes. It’s a fun chance to relax outdoors, draw/paint live male models and view a variety of homoerotic art. $25 advance, or $30 suggested donation upon arrival. 1:00-4:00 p.m.
